Fish & Chips with Mushy Peas & Tartare Sauce
I visited Four in Hand 1.5 years ago and to be honest, I wasn’t completely bowled over. However, I like what Chef Colin Fassnidge has done with his newest venture, Paddo Arms. The space at the back of the bar enjoys good light, has high ceilings and is an extremely inviting and cosy space. It just has all the makings of a great place for Sunday lunch with good friends or family.
Roast Bone Marrow with Celeriac Remoulade & Grilled Bread
Special: Roast Chicken with Roast Vegetables
The food was on the whole, pretty enjoyable and had reasonable prices. I loved the celariac remoulade that came with the bone marrow and the fish wasn't overcooked. The only criticism I have is that the Onion Rings and Fish and Chips were a tad too oily. Perhaps, the kitchen could have left the oil to drain a little before putting the dishes on the plate because the chips that sat under the fish became soggy as a result of the excess oil. That said, the food was straightforward and comforting. Kinda like the food that you want to have when it’s gloomy and rainy outdoors. If you live around the area, this is the ‘local’ that you’ll want to go to again and again.
House Made Onion Rings with Hot Sauce & Coleslaw
And maybe, a return trip to Four in Hand is in order.
