i'm about to burst at the seams.
I wish that I didn't have to go home so soon though.
Where else can I eat 18 different things in one place in just one day??

lunch @ sun with moon

I'm in love with set lunches at the moment. And especially with the set lunches at Sun with Moon. D and I went there last Sat. If I visited Sun with Moon, it'd always be for dinner. This was a first for lunch and I really was pleasantly surprised that lunch was such a good deal! The menu was pretty extensive I think and I had such a hard time deciding on my lunch choice.

Finally settled on having the Chirashi (can't remember the exact name) and it was so pretty, I almost couldn't bear to eat it. It actually is a really simple dish. All that's needed is fresh sashimi and fresh sashimi they delivered. I'd have to say that I really enjoyed this although I couldn't finish all of the rice cos the set came with another bowl of udon. In short, it was simply fresh and delicious.

Sun with Moon is particularly famous for their kamemashis and without fail, I'd always order one during our visit. I pretty much like the meat-based ones but D always finds them too heavy so this time, he gave the crab kamemashi a try. Honestly, whilst waiting for my food to arrive, I kept picking at his cos the kamemashi was so tasty and addictive. The crab really gave a sweetness to the rice and made it so tasty. It was also pretty light so I pretty much didn't know how much I was eating. My spoon just kept going for it!

Sun with Moon's definitely a must to visit especially during lunch time. Delicious and pretty-looking food at value-for-money prices. I'll definitely be back to give the other set lunches a try. Especially want to try the 8-course menu. Wonder what that would be like...

fruits. my favourites

For some weird reason, I'm suddenly in the mood to write.

Dad returned from Thailand a couple of days back and brought tons of food home with him. I practically felt like I was in Thailand last week. The thing is, he was travelling alone so I still cannot figure out how he managed to bring the whole lot of food back although I'm not surprised he did. To give you an idea, for 3 people, we could afford to have 2 dinners and be stuffed at the end of each one. There were Thai sausages, fish cakes, fried papaya salads and a whole lot. I thought the best part though, were the fruits he brought home.

I'm a huge fruit lover especially of tropical fruits. Despite the many things that we don't see eye to eye on, when it comes to food, Dad and I are very much on the same page. We both have the same liking for the type of noodles that goes into our laksa. We are also big on fruits; we could just have fruits for dinner. Dad usually keeps me in mind when he buys his favourite duku langsat. Same goes for mangosteens. This time, Dad brought a whole lot of mangosteens back from Bangkok and they were the best that I've eaten in a long while. The flesh was white, sweet and juicy. Usually when we buy the ones in Singapore, we often get a few bad ones unlike the Thai ones.

Dad also brought back my favourite Thai pomelo. In Thailand, they peel off all the skin for sale so I usually have no problems clearing almost half a pomelo in one sitting. Sis is away so there's no one to fight with me over it. I miss her but at least there was more for me this time. Heh.

craving.

Sushi Tei
1 Harbour Front Walk

I'm craving for this right at this very moment...

This is usually a must-order for me when I visit Sushi Tei; Sashimi Salad. I love it cos the tangy sauce boosts my appetite and they're always generous with the amount of sashimi; thick and fresh.

Like many other food chains, standards can vary from outlet to outlet. My personal favourites are Serangoon Garden and Vivocity. Among all outlets I've tried, both are more consistent and generous in their serving. Plus, you'd get a great view when you're dining at Vivocity.

Can't go on anymore. If I stare at the picture any longer, who knows what might happen.

Update: Just got back from dinner at Sushi Tei Taka. Was a little sore that there was no squid and swordfish in the sashimi salad today. Still find that they're not as generous at this outlet. Got to do with the rent maybe? Still was a satisfying dinner overall though. *pats belly*
